So, Google can't promote their products and service on their own service website? Nice EU…

Fining $ 2.7B for advertising your service on your website/search engine sounds pretty unethical to me.

Google should be able to do whatever the hell it wants (assuming it doesn't actually hurt or threaten people) because it built the search engine and owns it. If you're complaining about not being on the first-page search then move over to Bing.

finally the eu did what the us doesnt have the balls to do as its normal for the people saying that google doesnt deserve the fine they totaly deserve its called anti monopoly and in the eu its a thing if it wasnt literly everthing would be from google and there would be any inovation people would just use what google give to then or it would be a shit storm to use something not from google cause other companys wouldnt be able to compite.why install a app when you alredy have one automatic install by google? turning everthing made from google way to uncopetive for the rest and then expading to pther things like banks and everthing being rule by one company being no inovation

The EU was slow to fine Google. The EU was slow to fine the wintel duopoly. And AMD was hurt badly, don't you remember? Google wasn't playing by the rules and that's all. If you aren't playing by the rules you are going to be fined. At least where laws are applied. Hey but that's me if you think that the rules should not be used then good for you. But don't come back to cry to mama after your boss fires you because he just doesn't like your color/sex/religion…

Here's the thing, if you make money in a country you should pay that countries tax. You shouldn't be able to take money from a country and then pay your tax to another country, because there tax is lower, all you're doing is stealing. One year Google made 3bn in the UK but only paid 12mil in tax by diverting its revenue to its HQ in Ireland, which has a lower tax. Only last year Google agreed to pay back over £100 million in back taxes owed to the UK. That was 10 years worth of tax dodging and they only agreed to pay back that if they were put onto a lower tax bracket severely lowering the actual figure owed.

I don't understand?!? If the EU wanted to preserve competition, isn't the solution to promote competitors (Bing, Yahoo) and disable advantages Google has over them? Preserving competition within Google is like having a government run Monopoly, and this sounds more like the EU is desperate for money since they know the UK is leaving
