would it just be easier to have self driving cars that communicate with each other and move at a staggerd pase and position and they all keep the same distance witch would keep the freeway moving along with out having to stop every 10 feet. its better to keep moving at 40 mph than to be stopping every 10 feet. All he has to do is make a big fat donation to the fcc so he can have cearten frequiencies alocated for the self driving cars so they can communicate with each other. i think this idead would be more cost effective and way faster. he can even have his on self driving car communication data network grid on the whole amature radio uhf 440 mhz spectrum. and he can put a communication network guidence system on every hilltop that all ready has multiple useless amature radio repeaters on them. the buildings and electric power supplys are all ready there on every major repeator site. he can start by getting rid of that useless repeater on sunset ridge overhere on sunset ridge on 449.500 mhz its owned by an illegal aliean koeran anyways . I rather hear data for his self driving system on the ham bands than to have to listen to those idiots on 449.500 mhz . cause lets face facts ham radio never relly accomplished any thing any-how! believe me when i say this mr tesla. laura smith would love to sell you the whole amature radio spectrum on 449.000 mhz to 449.995 mhz. and be shure to tell her that ki6gvx gave you this idea.thats my worthless amature radio call sigh.!!! so i can get my amature radio licence restored and i can finalley WIN over that asin. and show him that a u.s citizen can get over on an illegal aliean.

Like, do the tunnels lead to specific spots or can you choose, and if you can choose, how would you avoid crashing into others going to the same place? It sounds great on paper, but I can't help but find some loopholes for it, cause it'll either end up being very ambitious or just an extra lane for traffic.

Tunnels seem expensive inefficient to create. Its 2017. Shouldn't we be traveling through dark holes now?

la? great place for tunnels.. this is a joke right.. will not work.. now if you used existing rail lines.. flat decks.. a premium.. people would use it to by pass traffic.. if they are staying a few days in a city.. other than that.. park and take public transportation.

second thought.. truckers would pay to by pass the cities traffic if its not there destination

Yeah….I'm thinking those tunnels become an inescapable death trap during the next moderately significant Cali quake. It might not even be the direct effects of the quake that get you, but the mass of people panicking to get the heck out of the tunnel surely might. I'll pass.
