To be clear, there isn't any screen burn in issues reported on iPhone X as of now. They are saying that, if such defects appear in the future, it's not a major problem and if it bothers you it can be replaced. Apple is being too modest in my opinion.

Apple fan boys laugh and crack jokes about the Pixel 2 XL screen burn in but now karma has come to bite them because Apple Iphone X has burn in issues too. How ironic is that.

It does not matter what kind of OLED or who builds them, ALL OLED will burn in eventually. Samsung is not immune to this too. My wife's Samsun Galaxy S 8+ also has minor screen burn in albeit very faintly. My previous Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has burn in too. Most consumers will buy new phone every 1 to 2 years anyways so who cares about screen burn in, just enjoy infinite contrast, pure blacks, vivid color reproduction and not worry about burn in issues.

I'm happy about the merger being called off again. Hearing stories from residents of other countries that have 1 or 2 mobile carriers, this is a good move. Consumers deserve choices.

Apple is just proactively jumping ahead of this, instead of pretending it doesn’t happen like Google did. Even if it does happen to the extent that it does on the Pixel, we can just use all the excuses that Google sheep have already trotted out to defend those phones.

Pixel 2 screen is still garbage town though.
